Being in the everyday can be thought of as a series of small adventures. At the heart of photography is seeing and paying attention to what often goes unnoticed. A key practice is the discipline of taking a camera on all occasions with quiet attention of the eyes and heart. Those adventures can be undertaken in the most local and familiar of journeys – a walk down the road to the shops or a commute into work. They are discovered by getting off the regular tourist trail and away from the sights when travelling. And they are stumbled upon by getting out of the comfort zones with the camera in challenging conditions. Small Adventures is an exhibition that tell stories in this way.
The photographs are all taken by members of Ealing London Independent Photography, a satellite group of London Independent Photography.
