LIP Members in Memorial: A Crossing Lines Group Exhibition

Images by Jennifer Roberts / Hugh Look

Crossing Lines is a collaboration between London Independent Photography & the Centre for Urban & Community Research at Goldsmiths College. Memorial, the first Crossing Lines exhibition of 2012, showcases twelve variations on the theme, taking ‘memorial’ as a repository of memory and meaning, investigating the interplay and divisions between private and public spheres, and questioning photography’s role in memory – aide or distortion, prop or mirror? In this diverse group show the personal bleeds into the public, while collective memory takes on individual significance.
