The Royal West of England Academy’s Open Photography exhibition in Bristol has been a success this year for LIP members (also see Duncan Unsworth and Edward Bowman).

Mandy Williams won the Printmaking Today award for an original print incorporating a digital or photographic process. The work chosen was ‘House #6’ (above). The prize is an editorial feature and a subscription to Printmaking Today for one year. This print was also exhibited in the LIP 22nd Annual Exhibition at Strand Gallery. It’s one from a series of paper houses made from newspaper stories about homes that had been damaged by domestic abuse and poverty. The print has also been shown in Detroit at the Museum of New Art.

Lynne Collins won the RWA photography award for two images from her series The Edge of Perception (above). An article about her will feature in an upcoming issue of the RWA friends magazine. She also had an image in the RWA Autumn exhibition.

Catlin Harrison has Winter Flora Gods in the show. Each ‘Flora God’ is made from plants (and some insects!) that are scanned at high resolution. Past successes include a silver-gilt medal from the Royal Horticultural Society, a place in the Smithsonian collection and a New York show debut.
